SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Alice Welty Roush, 84, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center, Savannah.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Blankenship officiating.
Mrs. Roush, a native of Bluffton, Ohio, had retired as a nurse from Veterans Administration Hospital, Dublin. She had graduated from St. Thomas Hospital, Akron, Ohio, and was former director of nursing at Emanuel County Hospital. She was a member of the Morning Chapter Order of the Eastern Star 231, Order of the Amaranth Shamrock Court 4, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Swainsboro Garden Club, Moore Demonstration Club, Emanuel County Preservation Society, First Baptist Church and Business and Professional Women. She was an Emanuel County 4-H leader and a volunteer at Emanuel Medical Center.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas C. Roush, Savannah, and Jack W. Roush, Moultrie; a daughter, Mary Roush Cooler, Swainsboro; a brother, Henry D. Welty, Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Esther Shady, Jackson Center, Ohio; and two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary.
