BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. -- Mrs. Sheila Pratt, 67, of 1 Hillcrest Lane, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at her residence.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Warren Wilson Presbyterian Church, Swannanoa, with the Rev. W. Robert Martin III officiating.
Mrs. Pratt, a native of Screven, Ga., was former co-administrator of Camp Wilmot, N.H. She was a 1949 graduate of Wayne County High School, Jesup, Ga., and she attended American Institute, Washington, D.C., Alaska Methodist University, Anchorage, Alaska, and Metropolitan State College, Denver. She was formerly employed by City Duplicating, Washington, D.C. She founded the Western North Carolina Chapter of Group to Alleviate Smoking Pollution in 1993 and spent much of her life working with youth groups.
Survivors include her husband, Ted Pratt; a son, Jack Clark, Bowie, Md.; a daughter, Jan Fugit, Salt Lake City; her mother, Sue Hurst, North Augusta; a sister, Betty Wright, Fort Smith, Ark.; two half brothers, Traynor Hurst, Dublin, Ga., and Travis Hurst, Chula, Ga.; four half sisters, Teresa DeLong, North Augusta, Gloria Martin, Laurens, S.C., Linda Cox, Texarkana, Texas, and Ann Holland, Valdosta, Ga.; and three stepchildren and nine grandchildren.
