The Augusta area is well represented in this year's NCAA Tournament including prominent players in two of the nation's top three rated programs:
William Avery, Duke: All-ACC second team sophomore guard exploded for 29 points in the No. 1 Blue Devils' 96-73 victory over North Carolina in the ACC Championship game. The Westside High product averaged 14.6 points and 5.5 assists during the regular season.
Jeff Bolton, College of Charleston: Butler alum leads the No. 16 Cougars with a .484 shooting percentage on 3-pointers. The redshirt freshman guard is averaging 4.8 points in 12.2 minutes per game.
Ricky Moore, Connecticut: Leads the No. 3 Huskies with 3.7 assists per game. The senior from Westside is a defensive specialist but averages 6.5 points per game.
Roger Toxey, Winthrop: The one-time Evans Knight has led the Eagles to their first trip to the Big Dance. The sophomore guard averaged 11.3 points and had a team-high 45 steals this season.
