Georgia 16, Wake Forest 7



ATHENS, Ga. -- A pair of hits from Hoovey McGuirt and a three-run homer from Doc Brooks in a nine-run seventh inning lifted Georgia to a 16-7 victory over No. 21 Wake Forest on Sunday.

Every starter had at least one hit and scored one run during a 19-hit attack by Georgia (5-1).

Back-to-back homers by Mark Thornhill and Josh Dorminy secured a 2-0 Bulldog lead in the second. Georgia added three runs in the third and led 7-1 by the end of the fourth inning.

The Deamon Deacons (4-2) rallied behind four solo homers, two by Jon Palmieri, to tie it in the top of the seventh.

Kyle Goodson (2-0) allowed only one run over 2 1/3 innings in relief of Barry Fowler.
