Mr. Harold R. Willis, of 4565 Rockdale Court, Martinez, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. today at the Cathedral of Praise with the Rev. W.J. Adkison officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., at a later time.
Mr. Willis, a native of Trenton, Mo., had retired from the Navy with the rank of commander after 30 years. He had retired from Wrens High School as a naval science instructor from 1978 to 1995, and he was a former professor of sociology at DeKalb College, Clarkson, Ga., and Missouri Southern State University, Joplin, Mo.
He was a former engineer for Lockheed Corp. and McDonald Aircraft and a former parliamentarian for the Columbia County Republican Party. He attended Maranatha Christian Center and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Willis; four sons, David Andrew Willis, Martinez, Joe Robert Brewer, Pensacola, Fla., H. Robert Willis, Gravois Mills, Mo., and Richard Brian Willis, Edinburgh, Scotland; two daughters, Carol Lee Willis, Salt Lake City, and Shirley Bell, Duluth, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Road, is in charge of arrangements.
