While the Jaguars defeated the Senators twice this season and the Bobcats defeated the Jaguars 80-70 on Monday night, head-to-head records are thrown out when it comes to crowning a Peach Belt regular season champion.
And while Augusta State finishes the regular season as PBAC North Division champs and Georgia College & State as South Division champs, Lander snuck into the championship mix with its 84-75 win over USC Aiken on Tuesday night.
Peach Belt North Division champion Augusta State (17-9, 13-3) will begin conference tournament action on Monday at noon in Savannah, facing the winner of Saturday's North Florida-UNC Pembroke winner, in the second round.
South Division champion Georgia College & State University (17-9, 9-7), an 80-70 winner over Augusta State on Monday night in Milledgeville, plays at 6:30 p.m., Monday against the USC Aiken-Clayton State winner. The Pacers play the Lakers on Saturday at 6:30 p.m., in the first round.
The Pacers (13-12, 7-8) closed out regular-season play Tuesday night at The Courtyard with an 84-75 loss to Lander.
In the women's tournament Augusta State (12-14, 7-9) plays Clayton State (9-17, 4-12) at 2 p.m. on Friday, followed USC Aiken (5-21, 0-16) against Georgia College (16-9, 9-6) at 6:30 p.m.
