Butler powers past Central

MACON, Ga. -- Butler High's offense, asleep for most of the first half, awoke with a vengeance in the second and polished off Central Macon 66-51 in the Region 2-AAAA playoffs at Westside High School on Thursday.

The victory qualifies the Bulldogs, 20-4, for a state playoffs berth, no matter what happens to them in today's semifinal game against Warner Robins at 5:30 p.m.

Ronald Johnson led a quintet of double-digit scorers with 19 points, followed by Bill Cogle with 13. Richardson Wilson with 11 and Carlos Rogers and Jason Williams with 10 each.

Larry Richards led Central Macon with 14 and T.J. Allen added 10.
