BEECH ISLAND -- Mr. John J. Albion Jr., 69, of 1582 Sandbar Ferry Road, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at University Hospital, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rowland Funeral Home, North Augusta, with the Revs. Finley Limehouse and Michael C. Davenport officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens, North Augusta.
Mr. Albion, a native of Sulphur, Okla., founded Beech Island Appliance. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, commander of American Legion Post 168 and a member of the 40 & 8. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include three sons, Edward M. Courtney Sr. and John J. Albion III, both of North Augusta, and Lawrence Proctor Jr., Baxley, Ga.; two daughters, Delisa Beasley and Sherry Byers, both of Beech Island; a sister, Billie June Amelung, Independence, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Morris, Robert Turnell, Bruce Carpenter, William K. Hood Jr., Jamie Brunson, Terrell C. Leaphart, Don Weaver and Lawrence Langston Sr.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of American Legion Post 168 and members of the 40 & 8.

Friends may call at the residence.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
