Mr. Jerry Lee Pond, 49, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, in Augusta.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road, with the Rev. John Yarbrough officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Pond, a native of Augusta, had worked for Sizemore Security as a security officer for 14 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Glenn Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Anderson Pond; two sons, Rodney L. Pond, Harlem, and Carlton M. Pond, Collins, Ga.; his mother, Sarah E. Pond Montgomery, Augusta; a brother, Richard Johns, Gracewood, Ga.; three sisters, Kay P. Fletcher, Augusta, Kathleen Alsbrook, Decatur, Ga., and Judy Allen, Atlanta; two stepbrothers, Leck Montgomery, Hephzibah, and Ted Montgomery, Waynesboro, Ga.; a stepsister, Jane Partridge, Hephzibah; and a grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Lacy Holton, Charles Webster, Charlton Lord, David Shelton, Leonard O. Fletcher Jr. and Ronald Dawson.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
