ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Hawks on Monday cut three players, including former Georgia Tech star Brian Oliver, from their training camp roster.
In addition to Oliver, the Hawks released Mitch Henderson, a rookie from Princeton, and Jason Lawson, who got little playing time as a reserve for Orlando last year.
Oliver had played only 11 NBA games since the 1992 season. In 1990, he teamed with Kenny Anderson and Dennis Scott as part of "Lethal Weapon 3" to lead Georgia Tech to the NCAA Final Four.
The cuts leave the Hawks with 14 players on their roster. Teams must have their rosters down to 12 players by Feb. 3.
The Hawks' season opener is Feb. 5 against Cleveland at the Georgia Dome.
