Lynx practice at IceForum open to public

Finally, the Augusta Lynx have ice to practice on when they're at home and the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center rink is not available.

The Lynx didn't waste any time hitting the ice of the new Augusta IceForum, which opened its doors on Saturday.

After playing in Lafayette, La., on Saturday night against the Louisiana IceGators, the team returned home Sunday, and was on the IceForum ice at 12:15 p.m. Monday for a two-hour session.

The Lynx (23-17-2) will practice at the IceForum, located on Augusta West Parkway off Bobby Jones Expressway, today at 12:15 p.m., and again on Wednesday, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. The practice sessions are open to the public.

Then, it's back to the road, headed south, where the Lynx will play the Tallahassee (Fla.) Tiger Sharks on Thursday, their fifth straight road game. The Lynx have won three of their last four games.

Augusta wraps up its road daze on Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the South Carolina Stingrays in Charleston before hitting the civic center ice on Friday, Feb. 5, against New Orleans. The Brass stay in Augusta for a second game on Saturday, Feb. 6.
