BARNWELL, S.C. -- Mrs. Mariah M. Hankerson, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at age 100. Mrs. Hankerson, of 420 Jordan Road, died at Barnwell County Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at New Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hankerson, a native of Barnwell County, was a homemaker and a member of New Home Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Tearges Hankerson Sr., Barnwell, Charlie Hankerson, Washington, D.C., Junious Hankerson, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Abraham Hankerson, Jersey City, N.J., and Ernest Hankerson, Metuchen, N.J.; eight daughters, Ruth Williams, Jersey City, Edythe Hankerson, Barnwell, Josephine Price, Sumter, Mariah Johnson and Aliphare Bell, both of Aiken, Harriette Hankerson, Forestville, Md., Mary E. Weaver, Newberry, and Queen Mohammed, Miami; two sisters, Pearl Martin and Rose Johnson, both of Gary, Ind.; and 29 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Guinyard & Sons Funeral Home, 756 Allen At., Barnwell.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
