HEPHZIBAH -- Mr. James Hardiman, of 2917 Inwood Court, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Broadway Baptist Church, Augusta, with the Rev. Ella Thomas officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Chattanooga, Tenn.
Mr. Hardiman, a native of Little Rock, Ark., had retired as a first sergeant from the Army after 20 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received the Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Badge. He was a graduate of Georgia Military College. He had retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Flanagan Hardiman; two sons, James Hardiman Jr. and Vernon Hardiman, both of California; three daughters, Marquetta Hardiman and Chanda Hardiman, both of Augusta, and Marynette Green, California; two brothers, Sam Hardiman and Richard Hardiman, both of California; a sister, Bertha Hardiman; and two grandchildren.
