Lexington won 42-7 in last season's meeting. ... The Hornets picked up their first victory of the season last week by defeating Easley 28-6. ... The Wildcats, coached by former Furman coach Jimmy Satterfield (1986-93), are the two-time defending Region 3-AAAA champions. Lexington has outscored its opponents 99-63 while the Hornets scored more points last week than they had in the previous three, 10. ... Hornets sophomore RB Roderquize Chandler had a career-high 101 rushing yards in Aiken's 28-3 victory over Easley last week. ... Wildcat RBs Willie Wise and Aaron Drake combined for 493 yards and five touchdowns in the first three games of the season.

Game notes:

North Augusta lost a heartbreaker, 19-18, last year. The Yellow Jackets led 12-0 at halftime but sophomore kicker Aaron Maier kicked a 25-yard field goal with three seconds remaining to give the Bruins the win. Maier missed his first attempt but North Augusta was called for roughing the kicker. ... Last year's game was the debut for Bruins quarterback James Murdaugh. Mardaugh replaced Michael Williams after halftime and threw for 125 yards and ran for 118, including a 56-yard touchdown scamper. ... The loss began a six-game losing streak for the Yellow Jackets.

The No. 3 Bulldogs are coming off a 41-7 victory at Swansea. ... Silver Bluff RB/LB Jules Corley turned in an exceptional performance against Swansea last week. The senior scored three of his four touchdowns in a 1:40 stretch during the second quarter. Corley scored on runs of 30 and 8 yards. He also returned an interception 40 yards and a fumble 35 yards for his other scores. ... The Raiders lost last year's leading rusher, Jamal Ashley, and starting QB Jeremy Kilgore to graduation. ... The Bulldogs defense has allowed just seven points in the second half this season.

Rebels QB Antwaun Hillary scored two touchdowns to lead team to its first win of the season last week. Strom Thurmond defeated Lugoff-Elgin 14-7. ... Brookland-Cayce's defense is spearheaded by LB Jesse McGill who had 79 tackles in 1997. Bennie Dandy and Xavier Daniel lead Strom Thurmond's defensive attack. The duo have combined for 77 tackles through the four games.

No. 5 Batesburg-Leesville has rattled off three consecutive wins after falling 12-3 to Lexington in its season opener. The Panthers have outscored their opponents 51-14 in that stretch. ... No. 2 Abbeville has pummeled its opponents 139-12. Greenwood defeated Abbeville 12-0 the second week of the season but the Panthers have shut out Woodruff, Crescent and Dixie. ... Abbeville junior tailback Antwan Burton rushed for 1,338 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. ... Batesburg-Leesville TB Quinton Langford rushed for 266 yards in the first three games of the season.
