Mr. Vernard Hopkins

WASHINGTON, Ga. -- Mr. Vernard Pope "Jimmy" Hopkins, 94, of 112 Wills Memorial Drive, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Wills Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Pam Stevenson officiating.

Mr. Hopkins, a native of Wilkes County, had retired as a dairy farmer. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Lafayette Lodge 23. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Sara H. "Sunny" Chafin, Augusta; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Masons.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hopkins Funeral Home.
