MINNEAPOLIS -- Retail giant Target will open three new stores in Georgia next year.
Two of the stores will be in suburban Atlanta, in Stone Mountain and Austell. A third is slated for Columbus. They will open March 7.
Minneapolis-based Target Stores, the largest division of Dayton Hudson Corp., is the third-largest discount retailer in the country and plans to open nearly 70 new stores in 1999.
Other stores will be in Oro Valley, Ariz.; St. Petersburg, Fla.; Crystal Lake, Ill; Glenview, Ill.; Ames, Iowa; North St. Paul, Minn.; Horn Lake, Miss.; Kansas City, Mo.; West Windsor-Princeton, N.J.; Bensalem, Pa.; Greenville, S.C.; and Tyler, Texas.
The additions will add up to 861 Target stores in 41 states coast to coast.
