Mrs. Ann McConnell

CLARKESVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Ann Waterston "AnnMac" McConnell, 78, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998 at Stephens County Hospital.

A memorial service was held Friday, Sept. 4, at Camp Cherokee for Girls on Lake Burton.

Mrs. McConnell, a native of Augusta, had retired as an early childhood specialist. She was a graduate of George Peabody College, Nashville, Tenn., and the University of Georgia. She was a volunteer and a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Alpha Delta Kappa sorority. She was co-founder of Camp Cherokee for Girls. She was Lutheran.

Survivors include one son, William Ross McConnell, Athens; one daughter, Ann Alexander, Batesville; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
