Mrs. Ruth Hooks



SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Ruth Vivian Hooks, 82, of Route 2, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at Swainsboro Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Canoochee Baptist Church with Tommy Rountree and the Rev. Lamar Samples officiating. Burial will be in Swainsboro City Cemetery with Steven Johnson and Robert Shannon Crosby Sr. officiating.

Mrs. Hooks, a native of Emanuel County, was a homemaker, an honor graduate of Twin City High School and a member of the Garfield Community Club. She was a 68-year member of Canoochee Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and training union teacher.

Survivors include two daughters, Sophronia Crosby, Tucker, and Vivian Mae Fennell, Midville; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Memorials may be made to Canoochee Baptist Church.

Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
