CLEARWATER -- Mrs. Odie Griswold Asbell, 88, of Parker Drive, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, in Augusta.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home, North Augusta, with the Rev. Paul C. Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville.
Mrs. Asbell, a native of the Shoals, Ga., had retired from Seminole Mills and was a member of Clearwater United Methodist Church.
Her family said she was the best mama in the world, so devoted to her children and grandchildren. She never met a stranger and loved everyone she knew.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur E. Asbell, Clearwater, and Cecil Asbell, North Augusta; a daughter, Jimmie Shaw, North Augusta; two sisters, Gladys Reynolds, Aiken, and Thelma Allen, North Augusta; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews.

Friends may call at the residence of Jimmie Shaw, 203 Hillside Drive, North Augusta.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
