Mrs. Queen Estella Palmer, 97, of 1596 Holley St., died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1998, at her residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Springhill Baptist Church, Hephzibah, with the Rev. McKinley Drake officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Palmer, a native of Jefferson County, had retired as a welder, and volunteered at the Senior Center. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church, where she served as mother of the church.
Her family said she was quiet but sweet and kind to her neighbors.
Survivors include two daughters, Essie M. Prescott, Augusta, and Mattie L. Wiggins, Swainsboro; a brother, Otis LaFavor; a sister, Janie L. Prescott; and seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sylvester Hall, Sanfford Reese, Michael Nixon, Wyman Washington, Ricky Geter and Jimmy Mackey.
Friends may call at the residence or after 2 p.m. today at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home.
