Business briefs: Delegates OK change of name



  • Member delegates of Professional Secretaries International have voted to change their organization's name to the International Association of Administrative Professionals. The name change was approved Aug. 3, 1998, during the 56-year-old association's International Convention and Education Forum in Atlanta, and became effective at the close of the convention Aug. 5.
  • Compu-ED 2000 in Augusta has been named a Microsoft Certified Testing Center for the Microsoft Office User Specialist certification. MOUS certification means an individual is certified in Microsoft office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint or Outlook.   • Brandon Wilde, a retirement community in Evans, was selected by Kerr Business College to receive the college's first employer of the year award for offering employment opportunities to students.
  • Brandon Wilde employs more than 15 certified nursing assistant graduates.

    The award was presented Friday at the Sheraton Augusta Hotel.
