Mr. Harley Humphrey



MILLEN, Ga. -- Mr. Harley P. Humphrey, 80, of 547 College Ave., died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at Jenkins County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Millen United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harry Brazell officiating. Burial will be in Millen Cemetery.

Mr. Humphrey, a native of Jenkins County, had retired as owner of Humphrey Cleaners and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Millen United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Clyde Harvard Sunday School Class. Mr. Humphrey had retired as a Millen Firefighter and was a past member of the Millen Rotary Club.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Lewis Humphrey; and his sister, Dorothy H. Ward, Millen.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Ward, Larry Ward, Roy Ward, Morris Tayloe, Tryon Reynolds Jr., Andy Hodges, Willie Herrington and Rufus Bailey.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Clyde Harvard Sunday School Class and retirees of the Millen Fire Department.

Friends may call until 2 p.m. today at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home and then at the church.
