MILLEN, Ga. -- Mr. Albert Douglas Newton, 70, died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, at the Medical College of Georgia.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Ray Jenkins and Eddie Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Newton, a native of Bulloch County, was a retired utility contractor and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Newton, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three sons, Jerry Newton and Timmy Newton, both of Augusta, and Wayne Newton, Atlanta; six daughters, Faye Show, Montgomery, Ala., Kay Newton, Ufala, Ala., Lynn Sprang, Charlotte, N.C., Debbie Roberson, Jessup, Jackie Thibodaux, Sicily, Italy, and Kathy Guest, Brunswick; two brothers, Aubrey Newton, Overland Park, Kan., and Monroe Newton, Villa Rica; one sister, Mary Hattie Hendrix, Portal; and 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jake Beasley, Terry Hendrix, Joe Beasley, Tyler Finch III, Elwood Thompson and Clay Thompson.
The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. today at Joiner-Shepard Funeral Home, Statesboro.
