WAGENER -- Mr. Leland Rawls, 87, of 457 Lake Amelia Road, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Clinton United Methodist Church, Salley, with the Rev. Troy Metzner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Rawls, a native of Aiken County, was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Cedar Masonic Lodge No. 184, Wagener Chapter and was a Navy veteran of World War II who served on the USS Johnston. He was a Purple Heart recipient and a member of the Wagener Veterans of Foreign War, Chapter 6803. He was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Whetstone Rawls; one son, Malcolm Rawls, Wagener; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Brown, Mark Stoughton, Dean Rawls, Johnny Williamson, Wilson Blizzard, Jimmy Hutson, Anthony Wiles and Johnny Fritz.
