Jackets lose, now out of first place



MACON, Ga. -- After Monday night's 8-2 loss, the Augusta GreenJackets now finds themselves looking up at the leader.

The GreenJackets (24-21) lost their third straight game against the Macon Braves and are now in second place in the Southern Division, one game behind the Braves (25-20). Augusta has lost seven of its last eight games.

Augusta's Derrick Lankford went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI in the loss.

Augusta starting pitcher Chris Combs gave up two homers and five earned runs in four innings in the loss.

The GreenJackets open a 12game homestand tonight against Hagerstown at 7:05 p.m.
