SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. -- Mr. John D. Ison, 75, of 1 E. Fairgate Court, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville.
Mr. Ison, a native of Whitesburg, Ky., had lived in Simpsonville for three years and was a former Clearwater resident. He had retired from Colonial Bakery as transportation manager. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of Arcadia Masonic Lodge, North Augusta, and Woodridge Baptist Church, Clearwater.
Survivors include his wife, Wrennie Huff Ison; two sons, Johnny Ison, Beech Island, and Richard Ison, Blythe; two daughters, Shirley Harris, Gloverville, and Bobbie Sims, Simpsonville; two brothers, Amos Ison and Paul Ison, both of Hazard, Ky.; three sisters, Yuela Fugate, Dayton, Ohio, Maude Maggart, Hazard, and June Hamilton, Salt Lake City; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the residence of Johnny Ison, 769 Beech Island Ave., Beech Island.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley.
