Mr. Mack Ashmore



LINCOLNTON, Ga. -- Mr. Mack Ashmore, 56, of 4730 Double Branches Road, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church with Bishop Cullen Hicks and the Rev. Kenneth Law officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Ashmore, a native of Lincoln County, had retired as an iron worker and was a member of Iron Workers Local Union 709. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was a member of Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Winn Ashmore; two sons, Robin Ashmore, Grovetown, and Michael Ashmore, Lincolnton; two daughters, Sandy A. Shelby, Blythe, and Gloria A. Gray, Mitchell; four brothers, William "Billy" Ashmore, Belton, S.C., Grady Ashmore, Greenwood, S.C., Donald "Donnie" Ashmore, Evans, and Eugene "Gene" Ashmore, Lincolnton; a sister, Sudie Mae Arnett, Greenwood; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Haynes Ashmore, Billy Barden, Mike Broome, Len Glidewell, Mike McCombs, W.C. "Billy" Reese, Terry Tankersley and Raymond White.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Iron Workers Local Union 709.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton.
