Spanish teen-ager nabbed after making e-mail bomb threat

MADRID, Spain -- A teen-ager sent an e-mail threatening to blow up his town's library unless officials paid him $170,000.

The 15-year-old boy was traced to his e-mail address at a computer sciences school and arrested after making the threat Tuesday in the town of Vic, about 40 miles north of Barcelona, police said. There was no bomb.

"All indications are that it was just a prank," a police spokesman said.

The boy, whose name was not released, was released to the custody of his parents. A juvenile court was to decide whether to press charges.
