Jackets drop 4th straight

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. -- The Augusta GreenJackets' lead in the Southern Division of the South Atlantic League continues to shrink.

The Jackets lost for the fourth straight night, 12-10 to Piedmont on Thursday, cutting their division lead over Macon to one game.

Macon, which plays host to Augusta in a four-game series starting tonight, beat Greensboro 3-1 on Thursday.

On Thursday, Kory DeHaan and E.D. Johnson each homered and DeHaan had three RBI but the Jackets couldn't overcome five errors and spotty pitching.

Augusta starter Andy Bausher was tagged for three runs in two innings of work. Reliever Jason Temple fared even worse, giving up five runs in 2 1-3 innings and taking the loss.
