I have known Ben Swain McElmurray since our days at Rich-mond Academy. However, I really got to know him when he became a member of the Augusta Chapter of AMBUCS more than eight years ago.
Within a year of becoming a member, he became a "big hatter" and the AMBUC of the Year. Before his second year of membership had expired he was a life member and soon became the first Augusta AMBUC to become a member of the national William L. White organization.
His commitment to the club has grown each year; he became the president, led the group in obtaining financial contributions and chaired the committee for two years in our main endeavor -- the home futurity.
I have never attended a national convention without a member from another state asking about him. He chaired the national resolutions committee and has always been active on the convention floor. He is involved!
With a background of helping others, I recommend Mr. McElmurray for Probate judge in the Aug.11 nonpartisan runoff.
