THOMSON -- Mr. Clarence Rudolph "Rudy" Foster III, 57, of 2171 Foster Sprouse Road, died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Phillip Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Foster, a native of McDuffie County, was a deputy sheriff for McDuffie County. He was a graduate of Baylor Prep School, Chattanooga, Tenn., St. Leo, Augusta College and Gupton Jones College, Dallas. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer and had retired as owner of S.A. Blanchard Funeral Home. He was a former member of the Jaycees and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Foster; a son, Clarence Rudolph "Chad" Foster IV, Thomson; a daughter, Angela Bright, Athens; a sister, Louise Gill, Tacoma, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Danny Pilgrim, John McNeill, Charlie Norwood, Logan Marshall, Floyd Huff, Robert Warr, Marion Greene, Tommy Lokey, Billy Duffie and Jack Garrison.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Georgia State Patrol, the McDuffie Sheriff's Department and the Thomson Police Department.
Friends may call at the residence or at Curtis Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
