Mr. Billy Ervin Hattaway, 65, of Augusta, died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Poteet Funeral Home, Wheeler Road, with the Revs. Lloyd C. Green and James Bland officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hattaway, a native of Glascock County, was a retired maintenance superintendent for the Lily Tulip Corp. He served in the U.S. Army, 31st Airborne Division. He was a member of the Lily Tulip Retirees Club and Bayvale Baptist Church.
His family said he was loving, compassionate and kind to all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, June Hillman Hattaway; two sons, Michael E. Hattaway, Harlem, and Anthony S. Hattaway, Augusta; one brother, George C. Hattaway, Lilburn; six sisters, Helen H. Wente, Reston, Va., Zuline H. Pulliam, Newnan, Peggy H. Braun, Jonesboro, Sara H. Joyce, Dallas, Maria H. Gregg, Anniston, Ala., and Jeanne H. Seymour, Ozark, Ala.; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Clyde W. Meadows, James E. Wiggins, Troy Tuggle, Lee Braswell, Aristides G. Dalber and Maxie Rutland.
Honorary pallbearers will be of the Lily Tulip Corp. Retirees Club.
