Mr. W. Hugh Raley Jr.



MITCHELL, Ga. -- Mr. W. Hugh Raley Jr., 69, of 11542 Jefferson St., died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Reedy Creek Baptist Church, Stapleton, with the Revs. Jon Richards and Keith Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Raley, a native of Glascock County, was a construction worker. He was an Air Force veteran, a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and Reedy Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Kitchens Raley; two sons, Bobby Raley, Angier, N.C., and Sterling Raley, Hephzibah; his mother, Effie Bales Raley, Mitchell; a sister, Mattie Katie Pennington, Matthews; and six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Dr. James Ford, Lewis Griswell, Allen Underwood, James Kitchens, Jimmy Wren and Tommy Rachels.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Glascock County Unit in care of Gwyn Couch, 412 Logue Ave., Gibson, GA 30810.

Friends may call at the residence and Sheppard Funeral Home, Gibson.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
