Says politicians, utilities department are to blame 070998 - The Augusta Chronicle



The loss of shrubs or a lawn is bad, considering the cost and effort that goes into their establishment. But a 25-year-old tree can't be replaced in a generation. Mature ornamental tree replacement costs could be $2,500-$5,000 per tree.

The politicians and Utilities Department hirelings are directly responsible for all greenery losses in this area! It is easy to say that "it has been going on for years; it didn't start on my watch." They all knew what was going on. ...

At least when Japanese politicians/officeholders are caught in a situation of their own making, or of which they should have had knowledge, they do the honorable thing, admit responsibility and kill themselves. How nice it would be if some of our shameless officials did likewise -- then perhaps we could get someone to do the job right.

American politicians have no sense of shame -- it is proven in the news daily.

We also have an electorate who (even if they vote) put the same clowns back in office, year after year, at the local, state and national level. We get what we deserve in many cases. ...
