Medical College of Georgia

Dr. Darrell G. Kirch, dean of the MCG School of Medicine, has been elected chairman of the Section on Medical Schools of the American Medical Association.

Dr. Anthony L. Pearson-Shaver, a faculty member at MCG since 1986, has been named chief of the Section of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Robert G. Martindale Jr., gastrointestinal surgeon at MCG, and senior medical student Jean-Pierre Mobasser are recipients of the inaugural NBI Healthcare Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award. The New Jersey foundation established the award to honor faculty and students who demonstrate the highest standard of compassion and sensitivity in their interaction with patients.
