Will Kennedy has been promoted to managing editor of The Augusta Chronicle. Mr. Kennedy was employed at The Chronicle from 1991 through 1994 before serving as managing editor of The Repository in Canton, Ohio. He returned to Augusta in January to serve as the newspaper's presentation editor.
Mike McLeod has been promoted to the position of new media director for The Augusta Chronicle and will be responsible for overseeing the production of @ugusta, The Augusta Chronicle Online, on the Internet at www.augustachronicle.com. Previously, Mr. McLeod was new media deputy director. He first came to work at The Chronicle in 1993, serving as a reporter until May 1996, when he become a new media content editor.
Wyck A. Knox, Jr. and Gary K. Joyner have been named to the executive committee of the law firm Kilpatrick Stockton LLP. Mr. Knox is a partner in the firm's Health Care Practice Group, and Mr. Joyner is partner in the firm's Raleigh, N.C., office.

James E. Fernstrom has been appointed vice president of product management of Thermal Ceramics, and Gregory R. Haltiner has been promoted to vice president of sales.
The Greater North Augusta Chamber of Commerce has chosen Dr. Constance Pritchard, president and principal of The Pritchard Group, to receive the Sam Walton Business Leader Award, sponsored by the Wal-Mart Foundation. The foundation granted $500 to the chamber in the honoree's name.
