Pacers hold on against Jaguars



AIKEN -- USC Aiken jumped out to an early 8-1 lead over Augusta State and held on to win 11-9 Wednesday night.

The Pacers (25-21) were led by the top three guys in their batting lineup. Right fielder Kirby Langley, Shortstop Bobby Jensen and designated hitter Antonio Evans batted a combined 5-for-14 with 7 RBI. Britt Pender picked up the win pitching into the seventh inning. Clay Farr pitched the final 2 2/3 picking up his fourth save.

The Jaguars (21-23) were led by designated hitter Bill Parker who went 3-for-4 with a triple and 2 RBI. Third baseman Willie Carter added 2 RBI for Augusta State.

USC Aiken wraps up its regular season this weekend at UNC Pembroke. Augusta State plays at Anderson, today, 5 p.m.
