As I read Sandy Beaver's letter of April 16 I sat and shook my head. As I read, I laughed. I just could not believe somebody has to stir up something that has already come and gone.
Well, Mr. Beaver, just think of why Coke has all these things advertised and why they have to support (school) programs. It's so Coke can get its name and products out there to support the company, possibly because it just went over $100 million in the hole.
It could possibly be that Pepsi sells so much better than Coke, that Coke has to do this stuff to keep itself going. ... If you looked in the April 16 business section you more than likely would go "Gulp!" after seeing the amount Coca-Cola has lost this year.
