Police seek killing suspects



AIKEN -- Authorities are searching for two men in connection with the slaying of an Augusta man.

Tony Ledell Rainey, of the 2000 block of Barnes Road, was shot at about 10:45 p.m. Friday when two unidentified men entered a Salley residence and began arguing with several individuals inside. Shortly after, one of the men fired a handgun, said Lt. Michael Frank, spokesman for the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.

Two men, including Mr. Rainey, 25, were struck. The second man, Salley resident Christopher Corbitt, 25, of Stonemint Drive, where the incident occurred, was taken to Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

An unidentified female was also in the residence at the time of the shooting but escaped injury. No motive has been established in the case, Lt. Frank said.

After shooting the two men, the killers sped off in a light-blue Honda Accord with a South Carolina tag, Lt. Frank said.

Both men are black. One has black hair and brown eyes. He is 24 years old, weighs about 140 pounds and stands 5 feet 6 inches tall. The second man is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He is 20 to 25 years old and has black hair and brown eyes.
