USC Aiken's men will have to go through teams from two states to reach the Elite Eight in the Division II tournament.
The Pacers (19-9) will be the sixth and final seed in this week's South Atlantic Regional at USC Spartanburg. USC Aiken faces Peach Belt Conference brother Columbus State, the third seed and No. 21 team in the Division II national poll, on Thursday at 6 p.m.
With a victory, USC Aiken would play No. 23 Catawba of Salisbury, N.C., the second seed, in Friday's first semifinal at 6 p.m. The regional final is scheduled for 7 p.m., Saturday, with the winner advancing to the Elite Eight at Louisville, Ky., March 18-21. Virginia Union, ranked No. 17 nationally, is the top seed in the regional.
Tickets for the regional in Spartanburg are $6 for reserved seating, $5 for general admission and $3 for students. USC Aiken will be chartering two buses to the game -- a student bus at no charge (call 803-641-3412) and an athletic department bus (call 803-641-3406), which will be $18 and includes game ticket, food and beverage at $18 per person. Both buses leave campus at 3 p.m., Thursday.
