Worries about the lack of morality 021398 - The Augusta Chronicle

The recent rise in President Clinton's popularity, if one can believe the polls, indicates an alarming lack of knowledge of what is right and wrong among our people. The message seems clear that the majority of the American people couldn't care less how our elected officials conduct their personal lives so long as the economy continues to do well.

To the majority I would simply ask, "Are these the kind of leaders that you want your children to emulate?" Morality does count for something and I sincerely hope the American people will come to realize that the morality, or lack thereof, shown by our top government officials has great influence among our children and youth.

May God have patience with the United States of America.
