I would like to address the article concerning the water leakage at a middle school in Columbia County. As a parent, I was very concerned, and as a businessman, I am very confused about the issue.
I am glad my child is in a Columbia County school because of the new educational equipment provided, but what good is damaged equipment, not to mention possible health hazards for our children?
My other concern is the incompetent manner in which the situation apparently is being handled by the faculty and administration. I can't understand why the county maintenance department doesn't do something or contact the bonding company who originally bonded the work to repair the damage.
The powers-that-be should contact whomever is responsible to repair or replace the damage and stop ignoring the possibility of a personal injury case or maybe even the outbreak of a new disease.
