Backs Gracewood teacher's actions 010998 - The Augusta Chronicle

I have known Carol Mann, Gracewood Elementary School teacher, all my life. She is a Christian woman who does care for the feelings of others.

She didn't hand out (a student's Christmas) cards because she sincerely believed that, as a public school teacher. she was not allowed to distribute anything that had any religious undertones. As a former public school teacher, I would have done the same thing. ... Whatever you do, it won't be the right thing.

If she had sent it, she may have had parents calling upset that cards went against their beliefs. Remember not all people have the same beliefs.

Yes, Americans are spiritually hungry and are receiving little nourishment. The nourishment should come from home and church.
