USC Aiken breaks through in Peach



USC Aiken (8-5, 1-2) outscored North Florida 52-38 in the second half after taking a slim 35-31 lead into intermission.

Derek Moore scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Pacers and Marc Hutcheson went 2-for-2 from the foul line to eclipse the 1,000-point mark in his career. Corey Faggins scored 15 points and Juan Wiley added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

George McCleod led North Florida (3-7, 1-3) with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Jay Boykin of North Augusta hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:57 left and Larry Jackson added an acrobatic jumper with 27 seconds to play Wednesday night as Liberty stunned Virginia 69-64.

It was the Cavaliers' first home loss to an instate team in 43 games, a streak started after a 65-61 loss to Old Dominion on Dec. 2, 1978.

Boykin's 3-pointer gave the Flames (4-8) a 64-62 lead and, after Erik Sorensen intercepted a bad pass by Virginia's Willie Dersch, Boykin added two free throws with 1:10 to play.
