South Aiken suffers first loss of season



KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- South Aiken suffered its first loss of the season Friday, falling in overtime to Jacksonville-Ribault Fla. in the first round of the Great Florida Shootout.

South Aiken star center Tony Kitchings was held to 11 points, 10 in regulation play.

"He didn't play very well," South Aiken coach Donnie Holland said.

The loss drops South Aiken to 4-1 while Jacksonville improves to 9-1.

The Thoroughbreds' best hope in the tournament now is to win the consolation championship game, which will be played Tuesday. If South Aiken loses today to Daytona Mainland, it will be eliminated from the tournament.
