There will be no suspensions for any of the ejected players from Tuesday's USC Aiken-Paine men's basketball game, USC Aiken athletic director Randy Warrick said Wednesday.
Warrick said he checked the rulebook late Tuesday after the Pacers' 67-60 victory over the Lions and determined that suspensions weren't necessary. If players had been ejected for fighting, those players would have had to serve a one-game suspension.
Seventeen of 27 players and all assistant coaches were ejected with 3:35 remaining in the opening half after a controversial screen led to a brief scuffle -- no punches -- between the teams. The players and assistants were ejected for leaving the bench area, which is a violation.
USC Aiken is in the Augusta State Holiday Classic Dec. 29-30. Paine doesn't play again until Jan. 3, when Alabama A&M visits Carter Gym.
