The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources' freshwater fisheries sectionuses a specialized lift bucket to release rainbow trout near the Hope Ferry Road boat landing on the Saluda River.
About 23,000 rainbow and brown trout have been released.
Tuesday was the biggest trout-stocking day for the agency, which used pan-sized fish from the Walhalla Fish Hatchery in Oconee County.
"We have a large trout-fishing industry," said Mac Watson, Natural Resources' hatchery coordinator. "We have the pure trout fishers using the fly and the rod, and we have the guy with the Zebco and the kernel of corn."
