Pacers put whammy on Newberry



Kendrick Smith became the third player in USC-Aiken's history to break 1,000 career points as the Pacers defeated Newberry 85-66 in the Peach Belt/South Atlantic Conference Doubleheader at the Courthouse Friday night.

Smith needed finished with 13 points on 4-for-14 shooting to bring his career total 1,001 points.

Hugh McMurray came off the bench for the Pacers to lead all scorers with 14 points.

In the other game of the doubleheader Presbyterian squeaked out a 55-54 win. The doubleheader will continue tonight with Lander vs. Newberry at 6 and USC-Aiken vs. Presbyterian at 8.
