Chiffonia Adderson scored a career-high 30 points on Wednesday night as Francis Marion (6-1) defeated Augusta State University 81-67 in the first Peach Belt Athletic Conference division game in the seven-year history of the conference.
This is the first year of divisional play in Peach Belt basketball. Augusta State and Francis Marion are joined by USC Aiken, USC Spartanburg, UNC Pembroke and Lander in the North Division.
Adderson's 30 was 17 points over her season average, and she pulled down a career-high tying 17 rebounds, giving her a double-double for the third time in four games. Three other Francis Marion players reached double figures.
Lawanna Monday scored 17 points to lead the Lady Jaguars (3-2). Augusta State trailed by 22 with about 13 minutes to play and cut the deficit to nine points in the last two minutes.
