Business briefs: New officers for insurance board



The following is information about honors, awards, openings and other news pertaining to businesses and organizations in or of interest to the Augusta area:

The Independent Insurance Agents of Augusta has installed new officers and board members for a two-year term. Those elected were Hap Harris, president; Morris Moss, vice president; John Weigle and Jeff Barrett, board members.

The Augusta Association of Life Underwriters announces its elected board of directors for 1997-1998: Alexander Wilson III, LUTCF, president; Beth Baggett, CLU, president-elect; Kenneth Talbert, AFP, vice president/membership; Leiston Shuman Jr., immediate past president/awards chairman; Walter Worsham III, CLU, CHFC, national committeeman; Marvin Timm, FIC, LUTCF, association executive/secretary-treasurer; Patricia P. Campbell; community services chairwoman; F. Wayne DeLong, professional development chairman; Robert O'Neal, LUTC chairman; Charles Whitt Jr., multiline chairman; David E. Moore, LUPAC/LUPIC chairman; R. Terry Lawson, public relations chairman; Charles H. James, home service chairman; W. Hal Morris, health chairman; Hubert E. Cooke III, field practices chairman; Juanita Home, multiline, co-chairwoman.
